Shutters with integrated blackout blinds
For the bedroom where shutters alone were never going to be dark enough.
The window
Shutters are not a blackout product. Closed louvres still pass light between the blades and around the frame, which is fine in a living room and not fine at 5am in a bedroom.
What we did
A blackout blind integrated behind the shutter frame, so both operate independently on the same window with no second set of fixings and no visible bracketry. Louvres open for daytime light, blind down for genuine darkness, and the shutter panels close over the top of it.
